1) All People
Why do all people hold blank faces?
What’s on their mind?
What can they find
to pay their bills on time?
Does anyone care?
Echoing in despair.
Is there anyone out there
Who dares to change this?
Why do all people look so lonely?
They seem so weak.
What do they seek at the end of the week?
Does anyone care?
Echoing in despair.
Is there anyone out there
Who dares to change this?
We all have need.
Some just have more greed.
But how can we all succeed together?
2) Our Paths Crossed
Did I cross your path
Or did you cross mine?
Our lives merged again over time.
But you will go and I will stay.
Unless we meet again another day.
Your sun rises before mine.
And you beat me to the finish line.
But somehow our paths crossed again
Giving my thoughts a slight bend.
3) You and Me
You and me, and the setting sun
That guides our night together.
Me and you, and the spotted sky
That brings close forever.
The whispering grass
Calls us over for a while.
The still air says it’s ok, for today.
We’re away from the rhythm of this world,
With only the beat of our hearts.
You and me and the red oak tree
Tells us which way is north.
Me and you, watching fireflies—
Looks like July the Fourth.
The whispering grass
Calls us over for a while.
The still air says it’s ok, for today.
We’re away from the rhythm of this world,
With only the beat of our hearts.
4) All Alone
I’m all alone in my house tonight—
No one to keep me warm.
I’ll keep the candle burning bright.
Won’t you come back to me now.
You give me laughter and tears—
Company and loneliness.
Tug of war end right here.
I can’t pull anymore.
There are flowers and weeds
On the winding road.
Pick me a bouquet
And whisper the secret code.
5) More Beautiful
Life is more beautiful when seen as art.
Like a system made of all related parts.
Time alone is really time shared,
Finding yourself
When the world is in despair.
So here’s an example
That I have prepared—
Snapshots of life, candid and bare.
Graffiti on the cobblestone walls
Makes an image for the eye.
Buildings, in need of repair,
Claim historical ties.
I know it may seem strange
Right from the start.
But life is more beautiful
When seen as art.
Life is more beautiful when looked through eyes
That are different, yet hold a rich disguise.
I once traveled across the raging sea,
To explore a new land
That was waiting for me.
So here’s an example
that I have prepared—
Snapshots of life, candid and bare.
A cracked and flooded sidewalk,
leading to the place
Where our memories are stored there
and time interlaced.
I know it may seem strange
right from the start.
But life is more beautiful
when seen as art.
6) Life
Why do those who once cared for us
Now need our care?
Sometimes it’s just too hard,
Just too hard, just to hard to bear.
The ones I love so much
Cannot seem to be
Just like they used to be
And still have their dignity.
Oh, life’s an ongoing process
Of change and renew.
I wish it would keep constant
But that would mean of nothing new.
We must embrace today;
Tomorrow may not come.
Cherish times with the ones we love;
There are only some.
Oh, life has daily battles
With some good and some bad.
Be thankful for the good ones
Or you’ll forget those ones you’ve had.
7) Ordinary Day
It was an ordinary day.
I was sittin’ all by myself.
Had my book to keep my company;
But then you came and distracted me.
My eyes veered from my pages.
My ears turned to your voice.
My heart began to wonder--
If you could be my choice,
On that ordinary day.
It was an ordinary day.
I was workin’ late that night.
Had my tasks to keep me occupied;
But then you came and took me aside.
My mind started to daydream,
Baby, when I saw you.
My smile grew even wider--
When you whispered I adore you,
On that ordinary day.
My eyes veered from my pages.
My ears turned to your voice.
My heart began to wonder--
If you could be my choice,
On that ordinary day.
8) City Lights (Instrumental)
9) White Snow
White snow on the gravel road—
Not a track in sight.
All are sleeping in their beds
Unaware of winters’ might.
I travel all alone on the gravel road;
Thinking of the days past
And calling them to ever last.
Flashes occur in my head
of what lay in record.
I recall them over again;
paging them forward and backward.
I don’t want them to ever end-
The moments that we’ve shared.
I file them in my mind,
so they won’t ever tear.
Not forgotten or for lost
In the distant past.
I’ll care for them evermore
And call for them to ever last.
Flashes occur in my head
Of what lay in record.
I recall them over again;
paging them forward and backward.
White snow on the gravel road—
Just my tracks behind.
Away from you for now, I’ll be back in no sweet time.
10) Baby, My Sweet
Baby, my sweet
Darlin’ my boy
You make me so happy,
You make my day.
Baby, my sweet
Darlin’ my boy
You make me so happy,
You make my day.
When I wake up in the morning
Or when I lay him head to rest.
When I sit at the kitchen table
I recall our times at best.
For you I will love forever.
Forever, you will be,
My only one desire—
The thoughts inside of me.
